WRITER–CONCEPT John Cherry of Nashville’s Cardin and Cherry Advertising, who also created the Ernest “Know what I mean, Verne?” syndicated tv spots and movies, really got behind my ad for Exhibitor magazine. He personally lent his watercolor painting artistry to give the ad a nice, exaggerated memory feeling. It was one of the Exhibitor magazine staff’s favorite adverts.

WRITER–CONCEPT To help Warner Brothers teach worldwide licensees of Bugs Bunny t-shirts or Porky Pig dolls or Daffy Duck pajamas how to quickly grasp the personality and catch phrases of the characters, I invented a new cartoon character named Bernie, who was the agent to the cartoon stars. This afforded me the opportunity to define each character and through “Interviews with Bernie”, I was able to put all the famous catch phrases into context.

WRITER Coca-Cola is a huge sponsor of sporting events like rodeo and auto racing. All advertising must focus on the fan experience at the events and how Coca-Cola relates to and enhances that experience. Having a refreshing Coke while watching the bull rider coming out of the chute is the way to enjoy rodeo. McCann This link to a comp for Coca-Cola racing is another example.

WRITER The "Letters from the President" campaign ran in Fortune, Forbes and other magazines targeting execs, HR managers, agents, investors and Hispanics. The number 100,000 was the common denominator with all constituents - $100,000 in agent commissions, 100,000 investors and 100,000 companies that offered AFLAC to their employees. McCann
