Carson City Councilman Compares Chaplin To Hitler

CARSON CITY, NV – During an open council meeting in which school bond issues where to be debated, Councilman Stan Ellison, 53, claimed that silent film comedian Charlie Chaplin was “a little Hitler responsible for killing millions in a holocaust of hi jinx and hilarity.”

The immediate reaction from the council and the gallery was one of disbelief. The chambers remained completely stunned until three PASBT (Pedophiles Against School Bond Tyranny) protestors, wearing blue ribbons, rose and began shouting, “Buster Keaton was the Goebbels of Guffaws!” Deputies had to be called in to clear the meeting and the eight other council members withdrew to chambers.

By making the analogy, Ellison, an Independent (I) from the 3rd ward, becomes the last government official in the world to compare someone to Hitler. “I guess I should have compared someone to Hitler long ago, but I couldn’t think of anybody who wasn’t taken already.” When asked why he finally arrived at Charlie Chaplin, Ellison explained, “The little tramp had that funny mustache, you know, the same kind as Hitler and they were about the same height, weren’t they?” Councilman Ellison insists he was not aware that the 5’ 9” Adolph Hitler actually copied Chaplin’s mustache and that the anti-fascist writer/director/star of the Hitler parody, The Great Dictator, was in fact 5’ 5” tall.
